The city of St. Louis is grappling with yet another act of violence following the shooting death of 37-year-old Michelle Hampton—identified as the victim in a case that has perplexed authorities since the incident took place this past Wednesday. Details remain scarce, but SLMPD officials have confirmed that Hampton's vehicle was swiftly located following the shooting.
Police responded to the call regarding a shooting at around 11 a.m. in the Kingsway East neighborhood. Officers discovered Hampton with a gunshot wound and despite EMS efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. It has been reported that earlier in the day, Hampton was forcibly taken from her car on Whitburn Drive in Clayton, MO, by an armed suspect. The assailant was said to have compelled her to drive to St. Louis where she was eventually shot.
