Violence riddled the streets of St. Louis late last night as shots rang out on Vandeventer, shaking the calm of a city all too familiar with the harsh cadence of gunfire. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed to the press that a 38-year-old woman became an unintended victim of a shooting incident that occurred around 11:00 p.m. last night, in the 2800 block of Vandeventer.
Running from the scene, the two men responsible for the incident escaped apprehension, disappearing into the night as quickly as they had emerged. Subsequent efforts to locate them proved fruitless as of the most recent reports. As stated on SLMPD's official website, the unidentified woman was caught in the crossfire directed at occupants of an also unknown vehicle by the two male suspects.
Despite the chaos that ensued, the woman was immediately rushed to a local hospital by Emergency Medical Services and is reported to be in stable condition. The ongoing investigation, led by the North Patrol Division, urgently requests any information that could lead to the capture of the suspects and the resolution of this violent episode.
