A fatal motorcycle crash claimed the life of a young man on Western Avenue last Thursday. According to the Knoxville Police Department, the 20-year-old was involved in a collision with a pickup truck around 8:15 p.m. and was later pronounced dead at UT Medical Center.
The incident occurred as the motorcycle, reportedly traveling at high speeds, west on Western Avenue, struck the truck that was turning onto the avenue from Sullivan Road. The crash is under investigation, with KPD reconstruction teams assessing the specifics of this tragic event, which adds yet another to a series of recent fatal motorcycle accidents within the city.
