Following a fatal shooting in Petaluma that resulted in one person dead, the Sonoma Sheriff's Office has reported the arrest of a suspect. The incident occurred on the 5100 block of Lakeville Highway on Sunday around 4:15 pm, where deputies found a deceased individual with apparent gunshot wounds. According to Hoodline, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the presence of shell casings at the scene, indicative of a shooting.
Yesterday morning, Violent Crime Detectives managed to locate and apprehend 59-year-old Paul Elliot Colton from Salome, Arizona. In a brief from the Sonoma Sheriff's social media update, authorities took Colton into custody at approximately 4:30 am in San Jose. Colton now faces multiple charges including murder, carjacking, and felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, he remains in custody with no bail.
