A young man's routine drive through the 3200 block of N. Taylor took a dangerous turn Friday afternoon when an unidentified assailant, clad in dark clothes and a mask, opened fire on his red Dodge Charger. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting occurred around 1:45 p.m. last Friday, leaving the 19-year-old passenger injured.
While wearing a mask, the unknown male in dark clothing, did not stop the Charger from seeking immediate help after the shooting. Interestingly, luck seemed to be on their side as an EMS unit came across the vehicle in the wake of the incident. The medical personnel promptly took the gunshot victim to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, as the Charger was leaving the area. The driver of the vehicle, however, was unscathed.
Authorities are currently piecing together the circumstances of the gunfire, which sprayed the red Charger and pierced its semblance of safety.
The ongoing investigation beckons for community assistance, engraving an opportunity for witnesses to seal the void of anonymity with crucial information. "Anyone with information is asked to call the North Patrol Division at 314-444-0001 for a District 6 detective," the SLMPD implored.
