A 13-year-old boy was hospitalized following a shooting in the St. Louis Place neighborhood on the night of Wednesday. The incident, which unfolded in the 2000 block of Mullanphy, occurred shortly after 10 p.m., leaving nearby apartments and vehicles damaged by gunfire, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The teenage victim's injuries prevented him from providing a statement; however, the initial investigation revealed the involvement of three unidentified males, who were said to be wearing dark clothing at the time of the assault and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department continue to gather evidence to piece together the circumstances of the shooting EMS was called to the scene, and the young victim was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police have yet to release detailed descriptions of the suspects or ascertain a motive for the attack, with the condition of the boy not immediately clear.
