In an official ceremony held at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in Nashville yesterday, Governor Bill Lee, accompanied by other high-ranking officials, celebrated the graduation of 16 new special agents into the ranks of the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security. The fresh graduates, who were presented with their badges in the event, now mark the state's achievement of having a dedicated special agent in each of Tennessee's 95 counties.
Commissioner Jeff Long, alongside Deputy Commissioner Greg Mays, honored the graduates with their badges. Having eagerly stepped into a commitment to public safety, Commissioner Long did not hold back his appreciation, stating, "We appreciate the support and investment Governor Bill Lee and the Tennessee General Assembly continue to make in public safety," as per the information found on the Department of Safety & Homeland Security official website. He added, "This graduating class is comprised of some of the finest law enforcement professionals in the nation. I thank each and every one of them for their desire and willingness to serve, secure, and protect the people of Tennessee."
This achievement reflects Governor Lee's vision of bolstered security across the state. The newly minted special agents will be taking on roles that range from counterterrorism to emergency preparedness, all critical areas in maintaining the welfare of Tennessee's citizens.
