A tragic sequence of events unfolded in Memphis on Thursday evening as a police pursuit of a stolen vehicle ended with a lethal crash. According to Action News 5, the incident started around 5:03 p.m. when officers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, a stolen car, which then sped off and eventually collided with several vehicles at Hickory Hill and Knight Arnold before crashing into a pole.

Three individuals in the suspect vehicle were pronounced dead following the collision. A Memphis Police officer was among five others injured in the crash, with all victims taken to the hospital in non-critical condition. Additional information provided by FOX13 Memphis revealed that the Tennessee Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation of the crash.

The confrontation escalated earlier in the evening when suspects in the stolen Chrysler 300 reportedly committed acts of criminality in the airport area, breaking into at least six cars and stealing firearms. "Shut yo ***** *** up," the suspects allegedly told a man who confronted them, according to police reports obtained by WREG. The events culminated in the fatal crash approximately five miles from where the pursuit began.

Witnesses described the scene, saying the suspect began shooting at police after officers rammed his vehicle, leading to collisions with other cars. The suspect then lost control and struck poles after a second impact from police. The injured officer has been released from the hospital, while updates on the condition of others involved are still awaited. The Memphis Police Department is yet to reveal further details about the chase and the sequence of the suspects' alleged crimes.
