Commuters in Murfreesboro experienced significant delays yesterday afternoon as emergency services responded to a motorhome at risk of overturning. WSMV reported that the incident prompted the closure of both lanes of Northwest Broad at Singer Road, heading towards Smyrna, as authorities worked to prevent the vehicle from tipping over.
The Murfreesboro Police Department responded to the scene, rerouting traffic through Singer Road to Florence Road and back onto Northwest Broad. Motorists were advised to expect delays as traffic was redirected around the accident site yesterday afternoon.
Amid the traffic disruption, WGNS Radio reported that the situation was resolved by early evening with the motorhome being safely removed. All lanes of NW Broad near Singer Road were reopened, and traffic returned to normal after the hours-long closure.
The Murfreesboro TN Police Department acknowledged the community's patience in a social media post, noting the reopening of both lanes after emergency teams and towing crews worked to safely remove the vehicle. "Both lanes of NW Broad at Singer Rd, heading toward Smyrna, are closed due to a motorhome that’s in danger of tilting over. Traffic is being rerouted onto Singer Rd, to Florence Rd. and back onto NW Broad. Expect delays," the department had alerted earlier today.
