A structure fire in Maury County resulted in two people being hospitalized for smoke inhalation. The incident occurred Saturday night at a home on Stoneybrook Road, as reported by WSMV. The Maury County Fire Department, Columbia Fire and Rescue, and the Mount Pleasant Fire Department were dispatched to the scene shortly after 7 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames in the home's garage, which quickly spread to the attic. Despite the challenges, the fire was brought under control within 30 minutes, due in part to the coordinated efforts to seamlessly tackle various aspects of the blaze, according to a social media post from the Maury County Fire Department.
The two individuals affected were taken to the hospital by Maury Regional Emergency Medical Services, as detailed in an article by WKRN. The extent of the damage to the property has not been disclosed, nor have officials released details on whether the occupants have been permanently displaced.
"The coordinated and seamless response of three fire departments working together led to the fire being quickly controlled without any FF injuries," the Fire Department stated.
