In a somber update from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, details have emerged regarding a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Rojas and Eastlake. As reported by El Paso County Sheriff's Office, two individuals were victims of a deadly collision.

Rick Ballard, a 29-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash. Meanwhile, 28-year-old Dalia Olivas was transported to a nearby hospital, where she ultimately, passed away due to her injuries. The circumstances surrounding the accident point to a grave issue of intoxication behind the wheel.

The Sheriff's Office has disclosed that the driver responsible for the accident is expected to face severe consequences. The alleged offender, whose identity has not yet been released, is currently receiving care at a hospital. Upon discharge, they will be arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication and manslaughter for the roles they played in this tragic event.
