An SUV driver lost consciousness while driving last night, causing his vehicle to crash into the corner of Mickey Malone's Tavern in Brockton, Massachusetts. The incident occurred around 5:04 p.m. at 347 North Pearl Street, near the Stoughton line. The 63-year-old driver, whose name hasn't been released, veered off the road, hitting several obstacles before crashing into the building, as reported by NBC Boston.

"Every Sunday I take a friend out to the pub, and we always sit in a certain booth. Today she wanted to sit in a different booth, one booth over," a customer recalled narrowly escaping tragedy as the vehicle crashed into the spot where he had been moments before. "The car accident went into the booth that we were not sitting in. If we were in that booth, we'd be dead," the man told NBC Boston.

Authorities' initial findings include a lane violation, for which the driver was cited after the crash. He was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center for evaluation, but the cause of his loss of consciousness has not been disclosed.

Although the tavern suffered noticeable damage, no additional injuries were reported when the vehicle crashed into the building. The driver's condition and the extent of the damage to Mickey Malone's Tavern are still being assessed, according to WHDH.
