
A routine Sunday afternoon took an unusual turn in Topsfield, Massachusetts, when a car unexpectedly crashed into the Topsfield Bakeshop, raising structural concerns but thankfully causing no injuries. The incident reported around 1:13 p.m. by the Topsfield Fire Department, created a scene of activity along Boston Street.
First responders arrived to find the vehicle had struck through the bakery’s facade, stopping inside the storefront. The driver was seated outside the car. The Topsfield Building Inspector assessed the damage to ensure the building’s safety, according to NBC Boston.
The Topsfield Bakeshop, a beloved spot for local treats, will stay closed today per its usual schedule. It plans to reopen this Tuesday, welcoming patrons back with the familiar aroma of pastries, though now mixed with hints of sawdust as temporary doors are in place until full repairs are completed.
The Topsfield Police Department has yet to release details on the cause of the crash, leaving residents and patrons awaiting further information, Boston 25 News has indicated.
