A Warren County man was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening burns after an apartment fire in Franklin, as flames erupted in the 400 block of Forest Avenue around 1 a.m. today, according to a FOX19 report, Franklin police arrived first on the scene but were initially repelled by dense smoke, unable to enter the engulfed apartment.
Firefighters from the Franklin Fire Department later entered the premises. They discovered the unconscious victim inside, as recounted by Franklin Fire Lt. Mike Posega in a statement obtained by FOX19, “they removed him from the apartment. As soon as they got him out they gave him to the ambulance and they took him to Atrium (Medical Center in Middletown) where he was stabilized and then flown to Miami Valley (Hospital) in Dayton." while the rest of the building residents were evacuated for about two hours, only one apartment suffered damage, and no other injuries have been reported.
