
The Upton neighborhood of West Baltimore became the scene of a violent tragedy last night when a woman was fatally shot. The Baltimore Police Department reported an apparent shooting that left 39-year-old Ceaira Jackson unresponsive and later pronounced dead.
Around 9:10 p.m., Western District officers were called to the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue after receiving a report of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jackson with what they described as apparent gunshot wounds. Medics were quickly on the scene, and Jackson was taken to the hospital for treatment. However, her injuries proved fatal, as reported by the Baltimore Sun.
