
A fatal collision claimed the life of a young woman on the 400 Northbound Expressway NE near Lenox Road NE yesterday morning. According to the Atlanta Police Department, at around 5:10 AM, police responded to a head-on accident between a Kia Sorento and a Toyota Rav4.
Upon their arrival, a 24-year-old female, driving the Kia, was found unresponsive, and despite immediate medical attendance, she was pronounced dead at the scene, the vehicle's status along with its trajectory at the moment of the collision remains unclarified as the Accident Investigations Unit continues their inquiry into the exact sequence of events that led to this tragedy. The 52-year-old male driver of the Toyota was also discovered in a critical condition, not alert but breathing and hurriedly transported to the hospital for emergency care.
The Atlanta Police Department's preliminary release suggests that one of the involved vehicles might have been traveling against the flow of traffic, resulting in the fatal impact; however, further details are still being pieced together by investigators.
