
A young man's attempt to purchase marijuana turned into a violent incident in the 4100 block of Walsh, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The robbery, described as a "Hold Up-Just Occurred," took place around 1:30 p.m. last Friday, when the 19-year-old victim entered a residence with an acquaintance and an unknown third party, as mentioned on SLMPD website.
According to SLMPD's press release, once inside the home, the young man was attacked and knocked to the ground. He was then assaulted by several males who proceeded to rob him of his backpack, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash, his cell phone, and other personal belongings. The assault left the man in a state of distress, but he was able to escape and seek help to contact the authorities.
The victim managed to run out of the back of the residence following the assault and borrowed a cell phone from a bystander to dial 911. The St. Louis police have appealed to the public for any information regarding this crime. The investigation is active and ongoing, with the South Patrol Division taking charge of the case.
