A Silver Alert was canceled last Sunday after the Knoxville Police Department found 61-year-old Robert Handley safe. Handley, who has a medical condition that could affect his ability to return home, had been missing from the Bishop Street area. He was found later that afternoon near Broadway and McCroskey Avenue, according to WVLT.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an alert for Handley, describing him as 5'6" tall with hazel eyes and black hair. The Knoxville Police Department expressed appreciation for the community's help in sharing the alert, stating, "Thanks as always for helping to spread the word," as reported by WBIR.
Details about how Handley was found or his condition weren't immediately released, but the Knoxville Police asked the public to call with any information, also sharing the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's number, 1-800-TBI-FIND. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation had said no vehicle or direction of travel was linked to his disappearance, making the search harder. Handley was later confirmed to be "found safe in the area of Broadway and McCroskey Avenue," as stated by WATE.
