A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred on Christmas Eve in Tempe, leaving a young child severely injured. According to FOX 10, a nine-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries following the crash near Baseline Road and 48th Street. The suspect's vehicle was nowhere to be found when police arrived at the scene.
As specified by Arizona’s Family, the Tempe Police Department learned of the child’s plight upon responding to a call shortly before 4 p.m. about a person struck by a car. Spead away from the crime scene, the driver involved has yet to be apprehended.
Current traffic in the area is disrupted due to the ongoing investigation. The police have advised motorists to take alternative routes, such as Southern Avenue or Broadway Road, in order to avoid the closed segment of the road around the crash site.
