Horizon City has welcomed a new Albertsons store to its community, officially opening its doors at 13671 Eastlake Boulevard in the Market at Darrington complex. According to KTSM, local shoppers can now explore the variety of offerings at the grocery chain starting at 6 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6.
In a gesture aimed at solidifying its bond with the town, Albertsons marked the grand opening by disbursing $100,000 in community grants. As obtained by KVIA, the funds will support multiple local projects, indicating the store's commitment to being more than just another retail outlet by contributing to the area's growth and well-being.
The grand opening also turned into a festive occasion with hundreds of people pouring in to collect gift cards and make use of promotions. Customers were greeted with an appealing produce section boasting pomegranates nearly as large as grapefruits, brightly colored peppers, and a range of organic produce. As reported by the El Paso Times, this aspect of the opening captures the vibrant energy of the scene.
Aside from fresh produce, the newly inaugurated store features a drive-thru pharmacy and sections for meat, bakery, deli, and floral arrangements. According to the customers who were pleasantly surprised by the available selections, the store boasts an extensive wine collection, and a Starbucks is conveniently set up in the store's front right corner. With special emphasis on local goods, shoppers found themselves exploring seafood sections next which appeared to resonate well with the community's expectations.
