An alert neighbor's watchful eye led to the apprehension of a suspected burglar in Barrow County, according to local authorities. Reports from FOX 5 Atlanta indicate that deputies were called to a residence on Atlanta Highway SE this Tuesday after the neighbor observed a man entering the home and seen later exiting from a side window.
When deputies arrived on the scene, their K-9 unit was quick to pick up the suspect's trail, ultimately leading them to a nearby residence. Having found outside what appeared to be items assumed to be stolen, 28-year-old Daniel Arellano-Mata, a resident of Winder, became the prime suspect in the case. While still in his proximity, a search of Arellano-Mata's own residence revealed evidence further implicating him in several additional burglaries within Barrow County and the adjacent Statham area.
AccessWDUN reports that Arellano-Mata was arrested and charged with one count of burglary, with more charges anticipated pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation. Arellano-Mata was booked into the Barrow County Detention Center.
