In a recent crackdown on criminal activities, the Scottsdale Police Department has taken 31-year-old George Keith Mosley into custody on severe allegations of child sex trafficking. The arrest, which occurred on Tuesday, was a result of an ongoing fraud investigation initiated by the authorities in July of the same year. Mosley now faces multiple felony counts related to the trafficking and exploitation of a minor, sexual conduct with a minor, illegal business operations, and money laundering, as outlined in an official statement released by the Scottsdale Police Department.
The sequence of events leading up to Mosley's apprehension started with a report of credit card fraud at a local hotel. During the investigation, police surveillance of the area pointedly observed Mosley leaving the hotel with a young female, who was later identified as a missing juvenile from another state. After initial questioning and arrest for the aforementioned fraud, detectives continued to deeply probe the circumstances and discovered indications of a darker reality allegedly involving child sex trafficking. "The Scottsdale Police Department’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Unit was promptly engaged to spearhead a specialized investigation into these findings," the Scottsdale Police detailed in the report.
Investigative efforts of the HEAT unit proved critical, revealing Mosley's involvement in what appears to be a harrowing pattern of trafficking underage girls across state lines. The discovery of such evidence prompted the Special Assignments Unit to execute a strategically-timed arrest on December 10, along with a search warrant at Mosley's temporary residence. This search culminated in the recovery of additional evidence significant to the case.
Mosley's case transitions now to the judicial process, as he is currently detained at Maricopa County Jail awaiting trial. The charges he faces are grave and numerous, amounting to 20 felony counts. There has been no statement from Mosley's legal representation at this time.
