Chaos ensued on the streets of Phoenix this past weekend as a delivery truck, belonging to e-commerce giant Amazon, was abruptly stolen. The Phoenix Police Department reported that the vehicle was taken around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, with the driver quickly alerting authorities. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, "Once officers got the initial information about the vehicle, they began to check the neighborhoods." The diligent search led to the location of the vehicle near 89th Avenue and McDowell Road.

31-year-old Salina Duran found it difficult to elude the police after committing the audacious theft. The officers were able to, without engaging in a dangerous high-speed chase, predict the movements of Duran and effectively close in on her whereabouts. "Officers were able to locate the vehicle," Phoenix Police Sgt. Brian Bower said in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix. However, when approached, Duran seemingly attempted to hastily escape, failing to pull over for the officers.

The pursuit culminated when Duran came to a halt near the I-10 westbound off-ramp and 91st Avenue. Following the truck's stopping, Duran abandoned the vehicle and subsequently attempted to run, only to be arrested by pursuing officers. 12News reports that no one was harmed during the incident and outlined that the Amazon delivery truck driver had initially reported the missing vehicle on Saturday.

Duran is now facing charges including theft of means of transportation, and unlawful flight from law enforcement. Currently being held on a $50,100 bond, her next steps through the judicial system remain to be seen.
