The City of Apple Valley is calling on residents to help keep streets car-free during snow removal operations. A city ordinance mandates that all vehicles be removed from public streets when plow crews are in action, aiming to clear the snow between the early hours of 3-6 am. Yet, this window may shift based on the precise timing of snowfall. As the city's snow plows gear to quickly and effectively clear the major and residential streets, the Code Enforcement team must ensure streets are left vehicle-free for operations.
According to the City of Apple Valley, the residents are urged to keep their vehicles off the streets to enable smooth snow plowing. Furthermore, residents are asked to proactively help by reporting any addresses where vehicles are obstinately parked on the street during snow removal efforts. The city is striving to make sure that Apple Valley’s streets are cleared of snow thoroughly and without delay.
Joining the initiative is simple: communicate with neighbors, keep an eye out for weather updates anticipating the need for snow plowing, and refer often to the city's webpage for the latest on snow removal activities. In alignment with local ordinances, it’s important to remember that parking on city streets between 3 and 6 AM is prohibited every day, regardless of the season. Additionally, residents should take care not to block sidewalks, keeping them accessible to everyone.
The city has set up channels to report vehicles that hinder snow removal operations. Residents can reach out to Apple Valley Code Enforcement at 952.953.2570 or email [email protected] to report any non-compliance.
