The Arizona State Sun Devils have clinched the Big 12 Championship title and are Peach Bowl-bound, stirring excitement among its alumni and fans. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, former ASU Alumni Association President Seth Deitchman expressed the community's surprise and delight at the team's success, saying, "This year was unbelievable. It really was. It exceeded expectations."
ASU will face either Clemson or Texas in Atlanta at the prestigious Peach Bowl, with Georgia's ASU alumni looking forward to hosting festivities. Aimee Rene, the local Alumni Association president, recounted her emotional journey during the season and shared, "We had gone to Arlington last week and then came back and we got the news the next day that they're going to be right in my backyard. I mean, I cried so many times during like the last few games because I just can't believe it. It's like, so exciting," as mentioned by FOX 10 Phoenix.
For those fans making the journey to Atlanta for the game, Seth Deitchman offered practical advice in an interview with Arizona's Family, "Expect it to be busy. It's the busiest airport in the world. It’s easy to navigate the airport at least. Then just plan on taking MARTA, which I think is a great way of transportation." He also suggested accommodations in areas like Buckhead and Midtown, noting their proximity to the stadium and various available activities.
Flight costs to Atlanta from Phoenix are soaring with most prices ranging between $500 and $700, but for fans determined to witness the Sun Devils play in person, the cost is a small hurdle. Deitchman, having earned the prestige of past president of the ASU Alumni Georgia Chapter, emphasized the communal spirit, stating to Arizona's Family, "There’s lots of traffic here." Peach Bowl tickets can be reserved through the university or found on secondary markets, with alumni events expected to accompany the lead-up to the game day.
