On Monday, the Atlanta Police Department reported the arrest of a suspect in a violent robbery and stabbing that took place at a United Community Bank. Mr. Mitchell Hester, born in July 1992, faces charges including Criminal Attempt-Armed Robbery, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm or Knife in the commission of felonies. According to a statement from the Atlanta PD, Hester was arrested by MARTA PD and transported to Fulton County Jail.

The collaboration between the Atlanta Police Department's Robbery Unit and MARTA PD was crucial to quickly follow and apprehend the suspect. "We would like to commend our analyst and the detectives in our Robbery Unit for their outstanding hard work on identifying the suspect involved in this violent incident," the Atlanta PD noted. 

The incident in question occurred on November 20, at the United Community Bank on Caroline Street NE, where a male suspect reportedly stabbed a bank employee after a failed robbery attempt. The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition, conscious and able to speak to the authorities. As per the Atlanta PD details, when informed that there were no funds available, the suspect resorted to violence.

Authorities have asked any individuals with further information to come forward as the investigation continues.
