Two men were apprehended yesterday afternoon by Boston Police in Mattapan, following a call about stolen packages. According to the Boston Police Department's website, officers arrested James Wheeler, 35, and Dante Brown, 38, both from Dorchester, on charges related to package thefts.
The arrests occurred near 28 Nightingale Street, where the suspects reportedly fled toward Talbot Avenue after Boston Police Operations provided officers with their descriptions. They were later found on Browning Avenue with the stolen package, still sealed and addressed to someone on Nightingale Street. The men are facing charges of Larceny from a Building, with Wheeler also facing an additional charge of Receiving Stolen Property. Both suspects are set for arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
The prompt response of the Mattapan officers resulted in the quick recovery of the stolen goods and the suspects' apprehension. Community involvement played a role, as vigilant neighbors reported the incident, aiding the police in swiftly locating Wheeler and Brown.
