A woman was found deceased on Thursday evening at The Harris apartment complex on Harrison Avenue in Boston's South End. Boston Police responded to a wellness check request shortly before 7 p.m., and the incident is now under investigation, as reported by NBC10 Boston.
Details surrounding the woman's death are still limited, but the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office has confirmed the victim was female. Boston Police have not yet stated whether the death is being treated as suspicious, but they have confirmed that the homicide unit is investigating the case, as noted by WCVB.
Homicide detectives continued their work at The Harris building on Friday morning. Residents were shocked by the event. "I came down to a whole bunch of cops, more cops outside," said Michael Dzialo, a tenant. Another resident, Fraser Simpson, said, "I don't quite know what to make of it, I mean a loss of life is absolutely tragic. It's very surprising and very different to anything I would have expected in this neighborhood." No arrests have been made, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward to help with the investigation, as stated by NBC10 Boston.
