
Following a report of a theft on Newbury Street in Boston's South End, Boston Police apprehended one of the city's most wanted individuals late Friday evening. The suspect, 28-year-old Erin Shruhan of Boston, was arrested after a brief foot chase by officers responding to the scene, according to the Boston Police Department.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:44 PM when District D-4 police were alerted to a larceny taking place at 206 Newbury Street, they were given a description of the suspect who was fleeing the scene and located her, initiating the pursuit that ultimately led to her arrest following the suspect was charged with shoplifting, as well as detained on an existing warrant for more serious offences which included Assault to Murder, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon both charges stemming from an earlier case in the South Boston District Court.
Shruhan is reportedly known to law enforcement and was featured on the BPD Most Wanted List before this latest incident. Her apprehension not only addresses the immediate allegations of theft but also allows authorities to proceed with prior charges that prompted the issuance of the outstanding warrant.
She is slated to appear in Boston Municipal Court for her arraignment, where she will face the consequences of her actions, the arrest not only underscores the diligence of the Boston Police Officers involved in the pursuit and apprehension.
