An afternoon stroll by a local youth near the Minneapolis Police Department's Fourth Precinct ended in tragedy when the boy was struck by gunfire in a drive-by shooting.
According to KARE 11, the victim was walking along the 2000 block of Plymouth Avenue just before 12:40 p.m. when a vehicle approached, and "several shots" were fired. The boy, who has not been publicly identified, suffered what was described as "apparent life-threatening injuries" and was quickly transported to HCMC for medical attention.
The incident did not spare the precinct's building, which was also hit by the gunfire. FOX 9 reported that although the precinct itself sustained damage, none of the officers inside were injured during the incident.
The suspect's vehicle, as detailed by authorities, fled the scene following the shooting, and as of the latest reports, no arrests have been made, as per FOX 9.
