Branson travelers, prepare to reroute your nightly commutes for a couple of weeks in January. According to MoDOT, you can expect a road closure on Business 65/Missouri Route 76 between Pacific Street and College Street starting from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, from January 6-17.
The closure will allow contractor crews to hopefully finish installation work on storm pipes, drain boxes, and driveway entrances as well as upgrades to sidewalks meeting Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. During the day and on weekends, the affected section of Business 65/Missouri Route 76 will remain open to traffic.
As part of this infrastructural improvement project in Taney County, adjacent routes 248 and 376 will also encounter similar enhancements focused on drainage and ADA-compliant sidewalks. While the construction takes place, driveways will be replaced in sections, with temporary gravel driveways provided, ensuring access to properties.
MoDOT has advised all drivers may encounter flaggers and potential lane drops where crews are actively working. Though no signed detours are officially planned, it's highly recommended to seek alternate routes. MoDOT's Traveler Information Map, available on their website, will offer the latest on road closings and traffic impacts for travelers looking to avoid inconveniences.
If you're driving in the area, stay alert for signs and message boards indicating the upcoming work zone.
