Police found 30-year-old Kristopher Samaroo with serious injuries following a confrontation. Authorities say the conflict started when the landlord arrived to demand overdue rent. Samaroo was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, but despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries.
Local authorities have arrested the landlord in connection with the incident. While formal charges have not been announced, the landlord is the focus of an ongoing investigation, which is expected to lead to legal action.
