The Camas Police Department is calling on the public for assistance after a string of vehicle break-ins and the theft of a car on Christmas morning in the Woodburn Neighborhood. According to KOIN, a suspect is believed to have stolen a dark gray Mazda CX3, bearing Washington license plate BSD5165, and proceeded to prowl multiple vehicles between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

The police reported that the thief made away with a variety of belongings from the affected cars, including garage door openers, a gift card, cash, and a cell phone. In the events of the morning spree, seven vehicles were confirmed to have been illegally entered and had items taken according to KPTV. Citizens are urged, to be on the lookout for the stolen Mazda and to report any sightings; 911 for an occupied vehicle, or the non-emergency dispatch at 311, if it appears unoccupied.

To aid in the suspect's apprehension, the Camas Police Department released surveillance images depicting an individual dressed in a dark colored beanie, a black hooded sweatshirt with white stripes on the shoulders and arms, light gray pants, and notably bright orange or red shoes with black laces. This visual account comes from the Camas Police Department's request for community assistance, as reported by KGW. Furthermore, individuals with any information that could lead to identifying the suspect are encouraged to reach out to Officer Tim Fellows via email at [email protected].
