On Saturday, Carrollton is dressing up its historic Downtown Square for the annual Santa on the Square event, which runs from 4 to 8 p.m., as per the City of Carrollton. Families are invited to mingle with Santa, witness the square's lighting, and enjoy various seasonal festivities.
With Santa staying late to meet the community and light up the square, he won’t arrive alone. His companions for the evening include toy soldier stilt walkers and one of his prized reindeer for that extra dash of holiday magic. Just in time to delight the young ones and offer a slice of wonder, there will also be festive face painting, a trackless train to ride, and holiday crafts to get into the season's spirit, according to the City of Carrollton’s announcement.
The holiday cheer peaks with the official tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., quickly followed by an impressive 175-drone light display courtesy of Sky Elements Drone Shows. Alongside these spectacles, Downtown Carrollton Square will feature various family photo opportunities, including a live reindeer and a 20-foot decorated tree, ensuring the memories captured will be cherished for years.
Visitors can wrap up their holiday shopping by browsing local Downtown merchants for gifts. Santa’s special North Pole mailbox will be available for letters to St. Nick from November 22 through December 1 and during the event on December 7. With the support of local sponsors like Raising Cane’s® Chicken Fingers, CoServ®, and Dallas Medical Center, Santa on the Square aims to deliver a warm, community-driven holiday experience.
