
A man lost his life following an altercation on E. Trade Street yesterday afternoon. Officials say the incident, which involved the unidentified male, some Strategic Security employees, and other individuals, happened shortly before 4:00 p.m., according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Detectives from the CMPD Homicide Unit are spearheading an active death investigation stemming from the event. The victim, discovered unconscious by first responders, was transported to a nearby hospital and subsequently pronounced dead. CMPD's Public Affairs Office has confirmed that crime scene technicians processed the site for evidence, while other agencies including MEDIC and CFD provided assistance on the scene.
As detectives continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death, additional details remain scant.
