
A Chicago man has been charged with armed robbery and other felony counts, according to local authorities. The man identified as Demarko Jackson, 28, of the 7700 block of S. Lowe Ave., is facing one felony count of robbery armed with a firearm, one felony count of aggravated UUW/Loaded-No FCCA-FOID, and three felony counts of resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
On Monday, Jackson was arrested on the 7600 block of S. Halsted St., where arrayed in a lineup, the victim pointed, recognizing the perpetrator of the November 18, 2024, incident. It was here that a 32-year-old male was allegedly robbed at gunpoint for his personal belongings in the 7500 block of S. Cottage Grove Ave. in Chicago's 6th District. This information was detailed in a release from the Chicago Police Department.
The Chicago Police Department's announcement of the charges did not go into further specifics about the day of the incident or what was stolen from the victim. The official press statement, however, noted that additional details on the case will not be provided at this time.
Jackson's detention hearing is scheduled to take place at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California today.
