Now in its 40th year, this holiday event has long been a staple of Comfort Dental's community involvement. "Care with so you know fillings, extractions, cleanings, some of the basic things," said Dr. Scott Stoddard, as he described to KKCO 11 News the essential services provided. The initiative, dubbed Care Day, has not just been about the procedures, but also about instilling hope and granting relief to those who might otherwise have to forfeit basic dental care. In 2023 alone, more than 3,500 individuals benefitted from this initiative, with Comfort Dental donating over $1.4 million in services.
The spirit of giving doesn't just exist in the realm of the tangible for the dentists and staff at Comfort Dental; it penetrates deeper, into realms where gratitude and satisfaction reside. Dr. Stoddard, in his dialogue with KKCO 11 News, voiced a sentiment that resonates widely among his colleagues: "There's just so many people out there that just really need a lot of dental care, and by just doing this little bit every Christmas... It's great for them. Plus makes us feel good that we're helping you know, doing some free stuff for people." They grasp that while they cannot to completely solve the healthcare disparities gap with a single day of service, they can certainly make a significant impact in hundreds of lives at once.
