On Sunday, Concord saw a burst of criminal activity that ended with the swift apprehension of armed robbery suspects by the Concord Police Department. Concord PD officers were dispatched to a reported armed robbery incident at the intersection of Pacheco Street and Mt. Diablo Street around 9 p.m.
The first officer arrived impressively within 30 seconds of the initial call, thanks to the efficiency of the dispatch team. According to the Concord Police Department's social media post, it only took two minutes for the officers to spot two individuals matching the suspect descriptions in a nearby parking lot. However, the suspects attempted to flee the scene upon being approached, leading to a foot chase.
Despite the escape attempt, both suspects were quickly detained by police. The officers recovered loaded firearms from each suspect and retrieved property stolen from the victim. Notably, both apprehended suspects were juveniles. After further investigation, police managed to track down the third suspect involved in the armed robbery, who was likewise taken into custody and transported to Juvenile Hall.
