The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest of 43-year-old Kevin Wayne Oliver from Dahlonega on Thursday. He was arrested for a probation violation, and during a search of his home, authorities found a large amount of illegal drugs, including methamphetamine, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Following his arrest last Friday, the charges against Oliver are clearer. He now faces charges of trafficking methamphetamine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. This follows the seizure of over 150 grams of suspected meth and about 6 ounces of suspected marijuana, as reported by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Kevin Wayne Oliver is currently being held at the Lumpkin County Detention Center following an operation led by the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, a coalition of law enforcement agencies across 30 counties in North Georgia. The investigation, which remains ongoing, aims to disrupt drug trafficking in the region.
