A Darien, Illinois man is facing more than 19 years behind bars following a conviction for producing child pornography. 48-year-old Glenn Clifford Messmer was sentenced this week, after pleading guilty to a federal child pornography charge earlier in the year.
Messmer, known online by the aliases “coreyjohnsonnn” and “jayyyjansen,” was found to have engaged with multiple children on apps like Telegram and Snapchat. He directed them to create sexually explicit videos and photos, which he would then pay for. His interactions were not casual, Messmer kept detailed records of his victims; including their names, ages, friends, physical features, and the extent of their willingness to participate.
Upon Messmer's arrest in 2023, a search of his electronic devices uncovered disturbing volumes of illegal content. Authorities found over 350,000 images and close to 18,000 videos showing child sexual abuse. The collected material featured victims with a heartbreakingly wide age range, including children as young as four years old. The search was a result of work conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and the local Darien Police Department.
U.S. District Judge Franklin U. Valderrama determined Messmer's sentence on Tuesday, according to a statement by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois. Morris Pasqual, Acting United States Attorney, and Sean Fitzgerald, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Homeland Security Investigations office in Chicago, announced the prison term.
