DeKalb County Police Department is currently investigating a pair of fatal shootings that occurred in two separate residences over the weekend. According to a report from FOX 5, officers responded to a call early Saturday morning on the 2600 block of Brandenberry Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered a man who had been shot at least once and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. In the aftermath of the violence, the name of the victim and the details leading up to the shooting have yet to be publicly disclosed.
In a similarly grim incident, a man was found shot to death early Thursday morning off of Young Road in DeKalb County. Police were summoned to a home on Hallwood Court just after 5 a.m., where a man, believed to be in his 30s, was found dead from gunshot wounds. As per details provided by WSBTV, a woman is being detained for questioning in connection to the shooting, which reportedly followed an argument with the victim. The relationship between the two individuals remains unclear at this point.
While investigators have been tight-lipped about the specifics of each case, the shooting on Brandenberry Drive continues to be shrouded in mystery. DeKalb County authorities are reaching out to the public for any information that might shed light on this tragic incident. Community members with potential leads are urged to come forward and assist law enforcement in piecing together the events that culminated in this untimely death.
Neighbors of the Hallwood Court residence told Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach that they did "not hear any gunshots overnight," indicating the shooting may have gone unnoticed amidst the daily rhythms of the neighborhood. The Hallwood Court scene was eventually cleared and the area reopened around 11 a.m. It's also been reported that several people, including small children, live in the home where the shooting occurred, adding a layer of complexity to an already convoluted investigation.
As both cases continue to unfold, DeKalb County Police Department is diligently working to determine the full scope of events that led to these violent outcomes. Community members with information are encouraged to contact the DeKalb County Police Department to aid in the investigations.
