A tragedy unfolded in an Antioch parking lot where an attempted robbery turned deadly, claiming the lives of two men in what appears to be a mutually lethal exchange of gunfire. The incident, which occurred on December 7 at the Delta Bowl parking lot, has been closely examined by Antioch Police Department detectives, who have ruled out any personal connection between the suspect and the victim. In a statement obtained by Hoodline, officials reported finding both individuals with gunshot wounds. A 34-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 35-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
The investigation led by the Violent Crimes Unit revealed surveillance footage and further evidence that shed light on the circumstances leading to the fatal encounter.
