Tragedy struck Chicago's Roseland neighborhood early Thursday morning, leaving two men dead in a sobering incident that has shaken the local community. Around 12:50 a.m., the stillness of the South Side was pierced by gunshots within a home located in the 9400 block of South LaSalle Street. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a female witness inside the residence reported hearing the shots and then discovered the victims in a living room, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

The harrowing scene unfolded as emergency responders were summoned, and both men were transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Details provided by CBS News Chicago indicate that a male victim of an undisclosed age was critically injured with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The second victim, a 59-year-old man, was similarly found in critical condition, sustaining shots to the chest and back.

Despite the swift medical attention, both individuals were pronounced dead at the hospital. Area 2 detectives have taken the helm of the investigation, but as the day carried on, no suspects were taken into custody.
