
Early yesterday morning, a serious accident occurred on northbound Highway 17 near Idylwild Road when a vehicle collided with a tree. Firefighters from the Santa Clara County Fire Department were called to the scene at 9:12 a.m. to respond to the emergency.
Upon arrival, first responders found an adult driver trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters quickly worked to extricate the individual, who was then transported to the hospital by Santa Clara County Emergency Medical Services. The accident temporarily reduced traffic on the highway as crews worked to clear the scene.
The Santa Clara County Fire Department later issued a statement on social media, reminding drivers to exercise caution and reduce speed, especially on wet roads: "Remember to drive safe on 17 and reduce driving speed on wet roadways."
