Last Saturday evening, the Chicago Police Department confirmed the arrest of Tiresias Young, a 45-year-old male from the 300 block of N Central Ave in Duluth, Minnesota. The incident, which took place in Chicago's 25th District, involved the discharge of a firearm by Young, leading to a 36-year-old man being struck, as well as an attempted strike on two Chicago Police Officers in the 1500 block of N Massasoit Ave. Young now faces two felony counts including first-degree attempted murder and possession or use of a firearm by a felon, according to a press release from the Chicago Police Department.
Detained following these events, Young was slated for a detention hearing at 2600 S. California yesterday. Charged accordingly, Young could be looking at severe consequences for actions that have once again drawn a stark spotlight on firearm-related violence.
The specifics of the 36-year-old male victim's condition have not been made public as the matter is still developing.
