East Point Police are on the lookout for a man caught on surveillance footage committing an act of vandalism at a local BP gas station on Main Street. The incident, which involved the suspect using a sledgehammer to cause extensive damage to a gaming machine, took place last week and has prompted a call to the public for assistance in identifying the man responsible.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the unnamed suspect can be seen on camera determinedly swinging a sledgehammer to break into the gaming machine, resulting in several thousand dollars worth of damage. After carrying out the act, he fled the scene with an accomplice in a black Acura SUV.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to step forward. Moreover, Atlanta News First reports that the police are not only seeking to identify and apprehend the man but are also offering a cash reward of up to $2,000 for tips leading to an arrest and indictment.
