
An outbreak of violence in St. John the Baptist Parish led to eight people sustaining injuries after gunfire erupted outside a business in Wallace, law enforcement officials reported. The incident occurred shortly after midnight today, according to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office. Deputies arrived at the scene in the 5800 block of Louisiana Hwy. 18 to find multiple spent shell casings and a group of individuals suffering from various injuries.
Among the injured, three were reported to have gunshot wounds, four others were grazed by bullets, and there was another person "suffering from a separate injury," according to a Fox8Live report. All victims were taken to area hospitals and described as "stable," although no information was disclosed regarding the severity of their injuries.
