Residents of El Mirage and neighboring communities came together this past Saturday, for an evening of seasonal cheer at the annual Winterfest & Parade. Attendees of all ages lined up along El Mirage Road, securing prime viewing spots for the much-anticipated march of floats and performers. The City of El Mirage encouraged locals to arrive early to enjoy the full experience of the event, which carried on into the night at Bill Gentry Park.
The parade featured a colorful array of participants, from local marching bands to festively decorated community groups. Families were able to fully get into the holiday spirit, with hot cocoa and classic holiday tunes accenting the air. Though road closures were a part of the deal, it didn't seem to dampen the festive mood.
Following the parade, the celebration continued in Bill Gentry Park, where the event segued into an evening filled with activities designed for family fun. Attractions included food vendors serving up holiday snacks, photo opportunities with Santa Claus, and craft stations for the little ones.
While official attendance numbers have yet to be released, the turnout was described by organizers as a robust representation of the community. Such an event serves to not only celebrate the season but to also foster a sense of unity and joy among neighbors. For those who missed the festivities or wish to relive the experience, photos, and highlights can be found on the City of El Mirage website.
