
A recent incident in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood has raised concerns after a 77-year-old woman was reportedly attacked by two dogs. The Boston Police Department is currently investigating the situation that unfolded yesterday afternoon at around 2:43 p.m., as per a report from 7NEWS. The victim was subsequently hospitalized with serious injuries following the attack at 208 Brunswick St.
The emergency call alerted police to the presence of vicious dogs in the area, with arriving officers finding the elderly woman who had sustained several dog bites, "Beware of Dog" signs were spotted on the fence of the residence where this unfortunate incident occurred. According to a neighbor, the dogs often played in the front yard, "Yeah, they’d be playing around in the daytime, then they were loud at night," the neighbor told 7NEWS. "I hope she’s okay because it’s scary. I’m scared of the dogs. Now, we have to watch for them."
Boston Animal Care and Control joined the police in responding to the scene. The dogs involved in the attack were secured in a backyard, though the breed of the canines has not been disclosed. The investigation by the Boston Police and Boston Animal Control remains ongoing at this time. Meanwhile the community has been left with a palpable sense of unease, considering that this attack comes just weeks after another woman was mauled to death by a dog less than two miles away, as reported by Boston 25 News.
