An upscale residence in Encino has been the target of burglars twice within a single week. Late Friday night, intruders were captured on surveillance video at the home located on Hesperia Avenue, according to KTLA. Despite the alarm system's activation, the burglars triggered the alarm and fled the scene without completing their intended heist.
Earlier in the week, another incident had unfolded which the authorities are still scrutinizing, suggesting a possible link between the two occurrences. Four suspects, who were dressed in all black, fled from the location in a white SUV last Friday night, this time the incident was reported at around 11:15 P.M., as confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department to CBS News. It remains unclear if anything was taken during the second break-in.
Additionally, a previous attempt was caught on camera on Tuesday afternoon. In this episode, the intruders were scared off before gaining entry into the house, with one suspect seen attempting to break a window and both retreating when an individual pulled up to the residence, per ABC7. The homeowner has endured a total of six burglaries, raising concerns about a pattern of persistent victimization at this specific address.
The series of break-ins has created an ambiance of fear and unease in the neighborhood. Yvonne Padilla, a resident of the affected community, expressed her distress to KTLA, "It’s very unsettling. We’ve been thinking about moving out and not just from [the neighborhood], but out of California itself. I feel like we’re not as safe as we used to be."
The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting anyone with information regarding the burglaries to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. The LAPD encourages individuals to call them at 1-877-527-3247 to offer any leads that may aid in apprehending those responsible for the repeated intrusions of the home on Hesperia Avenue.
